Croatia-Samobor - The gastronomic products made here for the past 200 years are a sweet mustard and Bermet, a bitter sweet apertif or digestif. Its ingredients are red wine, Mediterranean citrus fruits, locust bean, wormwood, dried figs and caramelized sugar. Both were made by Franciscan monks here as a stomach remedy, alhough some local scholars say that mustard was introduced and first made here by Napoleon's troops.
